Morning all, we have some construction type work being carried out within one of our factories over the next few weeks. During planning meetings, I obviously raised the issue of diesel fume emissions. I've been through HSG 187 which as ever recommends a suitable and sufficient risk assessment. The is a helpful risk table too. But can we safely run a diesel dumper truck for instance in and out of a busy factory? We have provisions in place to manoeuvre the dumper around but is there a sure fire method of assessing the fumes?

It depends on frequency, emissions, ventilation...for assurance you could hire a gas monitor (CO2) from Speedy Hire or some other outlet.
