Rank: Super forum user		Possession of a membership card is one thing; being able to produce it on demand is another! Now where did I put mine? Calling the IOSH Membership Dept is the more reliable way to verify status, including grade of membership.

Rank: Forum user		Will IOSH simply give this information over the phone? Not sure if they would be allowed to do that Data Protection etc? I've nothing to hide and have been a fully paid up member for nearly 10 years. However I would not be comfortable with some random person ringing up the IOSH Membership Dept to try and check me out? Can we have an IOSH response to this question please? DHM

Rank: Super forum user		DHM, If I was looking to offer you a job I would want to know whether your claimed IOSH status on a CV or letter was truthful. Does (or should) professional standing come under data protection laws? My age, address, health, sexual preference, marital status, wealth, inside leg measurement and bowel movements are all information that I would seek to keep private but I am proud of my membership and happy for anyone to know about it.
