Question Does a Qualified inspection Engineer require an awareness course on the loler Regs ? And who can deliver the course to them?

LOLER 1998 Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998: Open learning guidance from Health & Safety Executive:- http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/books/loler.htm Guidance explaining the Regulations, to help users learn about and understand their application in general workplaces such as factories, offices, shops, hospitals, construction sites, warehouses, farms or wherever lifting equipment is used. Mainly addressed to local authority health and safety inspectors and enforcement officers, health and safety professionals providing services within medium to large sized companies (eg trainers and officers) and HSE inspectors and legal professionals. Specifics covered include: strength and stability, positioning and installation, equipment marking, organisation of lifting operations, examination and inspection, reports, defects and information keeping.

the information provided is good plus any competent H&S bod should be able to deliver an in-depth view to a proper* engineer without using course providers [* note the word 'proper' as many are trying to use people who are not engineers to undertake engineering works]
