We use both in our workplace. I particulalry like the captive key system as this takes the choice away from the person as they have to follow procedure. When as standard lock out tag out - short cuts can still be taken. Katie

Same process as Katie Captive Key systems great for potentially complex interlocking for isolation. Has to be included through design though. Isolation Lock Out & Tag can be made more robust through a decent PTW system combined with key safes. Jonty

New Zealand Steel operate a superb one. A captive key based isolations system such as theirs is particularly effective when you have multiple mixed groups of contractors and staff working in areas where one activity affects others. Fundamentally though it does still require every individual to be responsible and to be locked on with their personal lock.
