Hi All,
I am looking for some advice regarding vibrations caused by an adjoingin building that is being demolished. It is causing the top floor to sway a lot (staff monitors are swaying, staff move). this is causing a number of staff to suffer headaches and nausea. We are awaiting results from vibration monitoring but have been advised it is within a limit which is structurally safe.
My concern is this vibration happens between (08:00 - 10:00, 12:00 - 14:00 and 16:00 - 18:00) and is impacting on the well being of our staff. What is our legal entitlement? I know we cannot stop the demolition but can we have their time ammended (08:00 - 10:00 and 16:00 - 20:00) or .......?
I have also contacted the city of London envirnment agency
Any advice would be welcome

Hi Dylan
I can only suggest contacting your Local Authority via their EHO. Not sure about vibration, however you will get noise with vibration and it is possible the noise may exceed tolerable limits. There may also be a Section 61 application by the Principal Contractor which will identify noise/vibration limits and working hours.
