Have you ever been bitten by a dog?
I have, and it's in no way, shape, or form, trivial.
And this was my family pet, well behaved, highly trained and loyal. And then one day it turned after being asked to get down from jumping up at the worktop for leftovers. She attacked me, I went to hospital, the dog had to be destroyed. She was my best friend and I was devestated and could not understand after all the years we had her why she turned.
As I said, not trivial.

Well, stonecold, there is a lot of guidance available on H&S Strategic Planning, and a lot of waffle some of it is, so I ignored that thread.
I have never seen a dog at any of my customers, so I ignored that thread too.
A thread on 'Forum questions - views', ah that might be interesting, and it is! :0)

Perhaps the dogs one is a bit more opinion based and the other a bit more knowledge/experience?
I commented on the dog one- I had an opinion
I didn't comment on the other because it is not something I've had to do or think about- whereas there are plenty of other knowledgeble people who can help- but I did learn something from it.

Cancer is something with us everyday and maybe posting about it brings back memories to people, vaping again is something that you can involve yourself in, in either a serious or light hearted way without offending.

It has not gone unnoticed here. Indeed, it appears forum users prefer tit bits (did not use the term trivial) rather than heavy subjects. I wonder if it reflects the nature of forums or those in health and safety?

I don't think it reflects on those in health and safety I just think we all have differing views and differing stresses during the working day and at times prefer the lighter hearted posts or should I own that and say I do.
It could be the responses that are recieved when posting and it puts people off. I will get involved if I am sure of what I am on about or just to let off steam. I am not one to post with the start being 'I do not know about this but.............'

Who says some H and S people get too caught up in trivial subjects....Just saying... ;-) OOpps... H&S strategic plan = things that may happen. Maybe. Dogs at work = things that may happen very soon, like being bitten or poo/pee on the floor.
