Hi all. Happy Friday!! I have been asked by a recently opened allotment society to ask here about shared allotment equipment. They have bought a petrol strimmer, mower and rotavator. The idea is they can use it to help new starters quickly get on top of their plots. Also to maintain community areas/pathways. Aside from the PPE which I can figure out for myself, is there anything else we should be looking at in terms of liability. Could they for instance let individuals use this equipment for their own plots (they would not always be on hand to enforce the PPE rule etc.) Or should the equipment be restricted to the use of committee only where there is a lot more control (or would committee use only raise it's own H&S issues?). Thanks for any thoughts or opinions you might have.
