Hi All,
I am looking to upgrade my Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice to a degree. Are there any sites I could get advice on the options available? I currently have 108 credit units towards a degree. I would be looking for distance learning degree courses.
I have checked the open university and there doesn't seem to be any options for H&S degrees.
Any help/advice would be welcome
Many Thanks
Dylan

Hi Dylan,
Your NVQ5 could be credited for a Masters', you could consider this as an option.

Hi Dylan, Strathclyde Uni run a MSc in Safety and Risk Management. I managed to start the Post Grad diploma with my NVQ level 5 last year and have now started the Masters element. I would fully recommend this if you are looking for distance learning. Good luck, John.

Hi Dylan
As per John, I have just completed my MSc with Strathclyde University. They are a wonderful university catering for all types of learning including the distance learning for the Safety & Risk Management. You will have to do the PG Diploma first which will lead you on to the MSc.
Highly recommended. Give it a shot and good luck

Hi John
I had intended on joining the BSc course at Paisley when I noticed your comment about attending the PG diploma after achieving the NVQ5. I'd imagine that this route would be better as it would eventually lead to the MSc.
However when contacted the Uni and was informed that I would have to attend the PG Cert course first, even though I have my NVQ5.
Is there anything else that I may need to do so I would be able to get onto the PG diploma? any advice would be great.
regards
grant
