dear dear Victor you seem to be on a slippery slope towards nursing home, what on earth are you doing reading that rag? Interesting that they can quote "health and safety regulations" when is suits them.

Totally agree Walker, if it would of been a H&S professional who had raised it they would of been interfering, and the same rag would of been screaming that H&S had gone mad.

Take care with that link. It just tried to open multiple pages and every time I closed one down two more opened. I just had to crash Internet explorer to get out, even then it tried to open back up twice ! Might just be the way my works machine is set up, but take care. Chris

(I haven't opened the link to read the report due to the problems on internet stated above) ptaylor14, Spikes of 110dB can occur in kitchens and restaurant dining areas where crockery is clattering, loud voices etc. Over several hours the average could easily exceed 85dB. Same happens in busy Wetherspoon bars and at parties and buffets attended by lots of people. You know the guidance says - if you can't clearly hear what someone is saying standing 2 metres away then the background noise is probably >85dB. In bars and restaurants people trying to have a normal conversation are often shouting to be heard!!

But agree with the comments about the Dally Mail - bit like the Jeremy Vine show on radio 2 slag's of H&S for doing something them following day slag's them off for not doing what they were doing day before!

Well you'd like 'Smokie Mo's' in Liverpool then, such a classy place. Pity the Grafton shut down though!
