Has anyone completed the fire door inspection course? Is it worthwhile?

We sent a chippy (rather than me) on an BM TRADA course so we would have an in house expert at inspecting/maintaining the 100s of doorsets we have and he said it was excellent.

He has been leading a review of fire doors in our 1990s head office and has discovered scores of significant defects - particularly incorrect fitting of frames to walls which have left very large hollow gaps or incorrect filler behind slim architrave. The fire resistance of these 30 and some 60min fire doors was probably < 15 mins!

From a compliance point of view, the course has been worth even penny. I am not sure the FM manager whose maintenance budget has been stretched to carry out the repairs would agree with me :)
