I hope most of the people blacklisted stick to their guns and go to court where the companies concerned can be pilloried for their outrageous behaviour over many years. Some of the people blacklisted were actually blacklisted for doing their jobs as union safety reps properly which is more than you can say for their employers. [These in the main had links back to the old Economic League backwoodsmen of the 70's]
I would like to see massive compensation -including exemplary damages-even though they are a poor substitute for the US style punitive damages.
I have always been dismayed at the limitations placed on the award of exemplary damages in our legal system-part of the old 'don't open the floodgates' reasoning and class issues
Regards
Mike

I also hope the construction organisations involved in this despicable practice get their come uppence in court with huge payouts. The companies involved are household names, the same companies who promote 'target zero' and all the other nonsense practices allegedly in the name of good health and safety.

A bit hard there on some schemes which are fundamentally of value but are then heavily abused. I agree though with much of your sentiment. The HSE have suggested Attitude and Behaviours as measures of competency so perhaps one could argue these well known companies are not competent contractors on the basis of their use of blacklists and should not be selected for work!!!!!
