Hi all
We have a young chap (18 yrs old) with us for 18mths as an apprentice (we are a facilities management company)
I've been looking into some worthwhile H&S training such as the IOSH working safely etc
He has asked if he would be able get a CSCS card.
Can anyone tell me how this works? Not coming from a construction background I've not had anything to do with them.
do they just go off and do a course or something?
Cheers
Mike

He will need to sit the CSCS HSE Operatives test I believe - costs £19.50 and then will be able to apply for the relevant CSCS card which is £30 I believe. Which card all depends on his current qualifications, unless there is a specific card for apprentices (which I think there is??).

There's a book you can buy which has all the answers (or a smartphone app) and a video or two you're supposed to watch on Youtube. You just read the book/app and memorise all the answers, watch the videos a couple of times just before the test and then do the test.
Book the test direct - there are some sharp practices who will book the £30 test for youand charge yopu £90 for doing so.
