Hi all I know this is a constant issues with most of us but trying to convince some people that having a cool beard V lung cancer etc. is almost impossible. I was speaking to one member recently who mentioned "the penny diagram" where dust particles were measured against a penny then multiplied to show how much dust can get into the lungs. Does anyone have a power point or anything to back this up, I'm fighting a loosing battle as the company will not enforce a clean shaven policy. Thanks Patrick.

If they won't enforce a clean-shaven policy then you don't need a powerpoint, you need to change the RPE to a type that doesn't need face fitting!

What RPE you are using dictates if you need a clean shaven policy? Does your RPE require a clean shaven policy?

Hi Patrick Try this:
at about 3 1/2 minutes in it gives a demonstration which should suit what your looking for. Also try OC 282/28: http://www.hse.gov.uk/fo...s/ocs/200-299/282_28.pdf And HSG 53: http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/books/hsg53.htm This should help.
