Is it me, or are companies ignoring their statutory and legal obligations in ensuring that visitors to their premises are made aware of H&S issues and guidance whilst they are on site?

I have attended a number of sites recently both in the Public and Private sectors where no information has been given in regard to health and safety matters.

The Health and Safety at Work Act sections 3 & 4 makes it very clear that there is an obligation to visitors and contractors, so why is this being ignored?

Is this a general trend that other ISOH members seeing?

I have not been concerned with inductions I have had at various places in the last year or so. Some organisations will do it well, some won't and some will be completely over the top. T'was ever thus; although to me standards do appear to be improving slowly with time.

Any particular concerns that have prompted this enquiry?
