Hi All,

I have just completed my IPD and now waiting for my CPD records to be assessed. Hopefully this will go well. I have enjoyed the experience and found it very beneficial in my work.

I was looking for some advice and information as I can see this is a very helpful forum. Generally how long does the process from here take?
I have also been looking for examples of these illusive core questions (which I know are no longer available) just in preparation for my PRI. I am aware that the interview process is changing and these core questions are no longer applicable but I don't think there would be any harm in being as prepared as I can possible be.

I'm apprehensive about the interview and want to be very well prepared.

Looking forward to the next steps and hopefully achieving my CMIOSH.

Hey there, I have done all the preparatory work too. I applied about 2-3 weeks ago for my Peer interview date. Mines is 8th June.

I think that was the earliest date available. So in my experience you're looking at 3 months away... ish.

Good luck.

one tip I would give id to know your CPD. Make sure you can relate to understanding your journey through your qualification to Grad IOSH and beyond. How it has benefited you and others (colleagues) Its important to know how you apply what you have learned, reflection as with CPD. 3 to 4 months after your IPD maybe the minimum due to the availability of dates for the PRI. Keep on top of the preparation with a plan, keep your CPD up to date and keep moving forward

Good luck Michelle, I too found the journey beneficial, my PRI is April 20th.

I'm guessing that as long as none of the evidence / CPD was fabricated, the process should be manageable (based on what we've already achieved to get to this point).

Hi Michelle

Having now spent a few years sitting on the PRI panel I would advise that you concentrate on the IOSH 4 pieces of the code of conduct.

When you prepare your presentation try and keep it to no more than 6 slides because you will have to stop at 10 minutes unless very close to completion of the presentation.

After that it is questions on subjects a safety practitioner would know and based on you not your company so really just finding out what experience you have had and how you were involved in the different elements.

We are not there to make you uncomfortable we are there to help you to your next level so good luck with your interview.

Hi Clarkyb, many thanks for asking how my PRI went. I am proud to say all was good and I'm now CMIOSH!

I would amplify the words of Darren Bedson, the process does focus on the Code of Conduct therefore try to apply real examples in your working experience. The presentation was limited to exactly 10 mins (timed!). You can stand / sit if you prefer. Rehearse and keep it to 10 mins.

Finally, revisit your CPD and IDP processes, ensure you are able to promote benefits from those experiences. Consider things such as why 'best practice' is important to you, what information sources are available to you.

The final and best advice I can offer you is, try to enjoy the experience, I did! I was slightly nervous but that soon disappeared, the staff made me feel very welcome and relaxed. I made the most of visiting Wigston IOSH. It was a great experience and I'm delighted to have made it to Chartered.

Good luck everyone on their personal journey towards this milestone.

Simon
