I've recently started working at a small business with a handful of offices with only one floor with a maximum of approx 15 people in the building at any one time. Is it a legal requirement to have smoke/co2 alarms? There is none in place at present and occasionally, there is a lone worker in the building. There are no highly flammable substances in the building. The required fire extinguishers/signage/adequate escape routes are in place.

Hi Safestickman I think it would depend upon the significant findings of the fire risk assessment for the location? What sort of work is being carried out? What work processes are adjacent business's undertaking? What hours do people work on site etc?
