Hello all,
This may have been answered before. I'm reviewing our SMS for site fire safety.
The RRFSO requires a fire risk assessment undertaken in each premises, and the HSE to enforce.
Part 4 of CDM 2015 requires me to prevent fires and to make arrangements for fire safety.
How have others implemented this?

Hi,
In general complying with the RRFSO by having a Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) and having an SMS in place (as long as it ic suitable and suffucient etc etc) means that you will be compliant with CDM needs.
The FRA needs to be reviewed regularly as the work progresses.
HSE have published construction guidance http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/hsg168.pdf
We had a weekly review programmed, plus others if something changed unplanned or because of circumstances.

As SSN says fire risk assessment and continually review and revise as the work progresses.
For example, a few years ago a worked for a company replacing wall cladding inside a road tunnel, 2.2 miles long and with a shorter branch tunnel.
The work progressed quickly and I did three fire risk assessments every week.

3 per week -I think you were just digging a hole for yourself there :-)

Ha ha no holes dug at all.
Imagine this: the work was done during the night, normal traffic through the tunnel during the day so anything could occur to change the previous night's assessment.
One night the guys were working between fire exits, say A and B. Next night between exits D and E.
Two gangs one each end of the tunnel.
Continual review and coordination required.
