We had an accident on a construction site which is RIDDOR reportable, it was a sub contractor on site who had the contract, he has a tradesman who is self employed who had the accident and suffered a reportable injury.

Who is responsible for reporting the injury? RIDDOR says that its the employer. the self employed or the person in charge of premises.

Effectively all of the above have the duty to make sure it is reported. However 'normally' it would be the person directing the work so either you or the subbie.

Doesn't really matter to the HSE as long as they get a report. It may matter to the subbie or Injured Party if they have to declare it on pre-contract submissions.
