Hello, I am looking to introduce daily inspection books into my factory for FLTs, cranes, racking, MEWPs and hoists. I was hoping for some advice on who to obtain the books from. The only supplier I have is SG World and they are extremely expensive. please could I also have some advise on what others do to comply with the daily inspection requirements?
thanks

agcu At a previous employer, For daily inspections we installed a "Scaff-Tag" card system. One side was a list of things to be checked on the other was a log for the user to sign and date. you could make your own log book and have what you want the operators to check on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

I would produce your own paperwork (not buy), that way you know why each thing is in the log. For instance for a FLT, the guidance from the HSE tells you what is needed for pre use checks on which ever type of FLT you have. Additionally producing your own sheets stops expensive books going missing.
Photocopy paper is a few pounds for 500 sheets ! :0)
But don't have unnecessary paperwork. :0(

For FLT's i used to go to the Forklift Truck Association; not sure on the other stuff you mention. maybe design your own and contact a local printer?

Or you could use a spreadsheet on a tablet or notebook PC, upload to your Server and merge this with your main inventory records.

Thank you all for your comments. I have decided to design my own inspection books in a similar format to SG World and work with a local printer to produce them - a far more cost effective option!
