I am of course aware that my organisation needs to conduct regular fire drills, but where exactly in the UK fire legislation does it specify a requirement? And if so, are a frequency mentioned? Thank you.

Procedures for serious and imminent danger and for danger areas
15.—(1) The responsible person must—
(a)establish and, where necessary, give effect to appropriate procedures, including safety drills, to be followed in the event of serious and imminent danger to relevant persons;
(b)nominate a sufficient number of competent persons to implement those procedures in so far as they relate to the evacuation of relevant persons from the premises; and

What SBH omits is that this is Article 15 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, which applies to England and Wales. The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 applies to Scotland and contains similar requirements,

As so often in the Fire Safety Order, be careful of the where necessary bit:
a)establish and, WHERE NECESSARY, give effect to appropriate procedures, including safety drills
That means that some premises may not need a fire drill. eg: very small premises and flats with no employees

In the government fire risk assessment guide it states that once the emergency plan has been developed a fire drill should be carried out at least annually or determined by the fire risk assessment
