Can I just confirm these are two separate issues, or are you asking whether there is specific health surveillance guidance for those who work at heights?

Hi Just to confirm-'is there any specific guidance for operators to undergo health surveillance if working at height'. So just one issue. Cheers

Health surveillance would normally be referenced to COSHH, Noise, or HAVS. As far as I am aware there are no specific health risks for working at heights(?)

Our WAH RAs include determining if employees are suitable for WAH - climbing ladders > 2 metres, working on scaffolding, working near protected edges with harness. So our 'surveillance' is a face-to-face consultation: Staff with poor health history or occurring illness can become at risk of injury in normal situations, and this is a bigger risk when WAH, so all significant/serious health conditions must be reported to managers who will help assess whether normal work with WAH can continue. Vertigo and any concerns working at height must be reported to managers. Prescription medication which may cause drowsiness must be discussed with managers before driving or working. Reminder about company Drugs and Alcohol policy.
