Hi,
we have some engineering equipment that predates the requirement for vibration data (from the manufacturer's mouth). I understand that bench grinder emissions would depend on many factors such as the size and composition of both the disc, material being worked, as well as personal factors including technique etc.
My question is, these things were built to last. Is there any published information out there, or does anyone have any experience where I could use a worst case scenario and work toward scaling down from there? For its little use I think getting the consultants and accelerometers may be p[ushing it a little too much.
Happy for any opinions and examples

I've had sight of an early draft of revised HSE Guidance proposals which suggest applying an initial figure of 8m/s2 for pedestal grinders - this based on upper and lower 25 percentile of 11 and 2 respectively.
I hope this is of some help.
