Mandatory fire safety awareness training within the NHS - but how can you train 1000s of staff. The HTM states it should be face to face at least every 2nd year - impossible!!!
Currently I do face to face with clinical staff every 2nd year and I am now hoping that all non-clinical staff can do e-learning or work books. Any thoughts or additional options would be appreciated

SBH,
The Trust that I worked at undertook an e-learning package where you logged in and had to complete certain courses based on job role. These were linked into your online payroll/hours/holiday system so that line managers etc. could see if you had completed them within the timescales set. It also tracked progress and when becoming due (say annual refresher) it would generate a workflow to take you to the relevant course. This would then generate your competence profile which could be reported on.
This was handy for when the CQC/Monitor came for inspections.
Some courses where (by their nature) face-to-face and the LeADs team would manually update your competence profile.
Hope this helps.

I am not familiar with the NHS, however I would have thought there should be a basic building familiarity for all new starters to include, what to do if the fire alarm activates, escape routes, fire exits, muster point, etc. Followed by some formal fire awareness training which could be done periodically by e-learning or possibly face-to-face.

Impossible ?
You train 10 people, they each train ten people and they each train ten people =1,000 people.
or
You train 20 people a week for 50 weeks = 1,000
It not actually impossible, just you many not be fully resourced.
Are these HTM's mandatory to comply with ?

What training are you doing, is it fire awareness or do they have practical fire extinguisher training.
If it is basic fire awareness train more than 20 in each class. There is no reason why you have to have small classes.

No - there are 6000 staff and one trainer - me - plus there are other compliance issues to be maintained. I would just like to know how many healthcare premises use e-learning. Just done one training session with 58 people so I dont need advice on numbers. HTMs are similar to ACOPs

Can you not train up some more trainers, say one in each department, and (maybe if needed) give them a refresher every two years before they embark on another round.
I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, but why should non-clinical staff be given a lesser degree of training than clinical staff.
