Good morning all, Is anyone aware of any regulations regarding placement/number of flashing beacons required on recovery trucks. Any help is much appreciated. Peter

I don't think theres any legal requirement for the amount, as long as you have adequate lighting to warn other road users, I do know that any amber rotating beacons need to be fitted 1.2m minimum, but strobes can be fitted anywhere were they can be seen by other road users.

Check out ECE-R65. a searth with your favourite search engine should give you some pointers.
From there you should be able to identify what you need.
If the vehicles are for use on-highway, then I think that there are requirements in Chapter 8, there is also a BS PAS43 which relates to this.

Take from Chapter 8
"Without prejudice to the specific requirements of the following sections, any vehicle stopping on the highway for works purposes or inspections shall be equipped with either a roof-mounted amber warning light bar (comprising at least two independent light sources) or two independent roof-mounted amber warning beacons, visible through 360°.
Warning beacons must comply with the requirements of the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations and should also comply with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Regulation 65 on Special Warning Lamps.
If the main beacon is likely to be obscured from the rear by parts of the vehicle or any equipment carried on the vehicle, additional beacons should be fitted toward the rear of the vehicle where they will remain visible".
Hope this helps, John.
