I met with a client the other day and spent 3 hours in their board room. Construction working was underway immediately opposite their offices. Significant levels of vibration were experienced coming through the floor and subsequently through seats and desks due to constant flow of construction vehicle traffic, piling ,breaking , etc.

The vibration is that significant that cracks have started to appear around the breeze blocks wihin their warehouse facility. This has been going on for approx 3 weeks now and complaints have arisen from employees who are experiencing sleepness nights, sickness, headaches and general anxiety. In addition to the vibration there is the constant background noise to deal with.

I can't seem to find any reference to this on the HSE website. Has anyone experienced anything similar, or have any advice?

Thanks in anticipation.

If it is their site then they can tell the builder to stop!

If it is across the way on someone else’s site then they could contact the local council about it being Statutory Nuisance.
