All, I've just had my PRI this morning and in line with what I stated in my council election statement about supporting others, that's exactly what I'm offering. I'd be happy to share my experience of the PRI should anyone wish to chat, just PM me.
That said, I'd also reiterate the great event being held by IOSH Staffordshire Branch and the mock PRI. It sounds like a really useful event and one I myself could've done with prior to today. Details I believe are available on a forum topic.
On a final note and irrespective of my PRI, I think it's worth reiterating that those members on the panel are just that, members. They're not IOSH employees and give up their free time to support members wanting to progress - on record are my thanks to the hundreds of volunteers both PRI panel members and others up and down the country. Having attended council yesterday, their enthusiasm and commitment to us the members, the organisation and to those outside of it is second to none.

Hi Jay,
I have my PRI coming up in Feb 2017 and would appreciate it if you could give any tips from your experiance. Contacted IOSH a couple of times to speak with the membership team inregards to getting information and pointers, but have not gotten through to them.
It is the Q&A section I am most concerned about as there is no real guidance on what they are going to ask you. From researching other forums people are saying that the questions are based on what you deliver in your presenation and also, in the employment sheet you forward with your presenation prior to your PRI. Is this the case?
Any tips would be of great value and deeply appreciated.
Darren

Darren - my apologies for the delay, have been unable to log in to IOSH given technical difficulties! Happy to share some pointers. Can you let me know if your PM system is working and inbox is clear as i'll send you over a response through there!
Cheers

Hi Jay
My interview is in December. I have the same question as Darren perhaps you would be so kind as to provide a simalr response?
Also, Did I read somewhere that you cannot use notes in your presentation?
Thanks
Andrew

The East Midlands Branch are holding a mock PRI on 17th November, similar to Staffordshire, from 6pm to 7pm at the Nottm Forest Ground, if anyone is interested in turning up. We are very fortunate to have a volunteer who is undergoing the OA at the moment, so is looking for the experience, but very brave as will be in front of an audience so others can benefit from the experience too. Thank you Jamie Blom.

Do you have any specific questions? In terms of genereal pointers - ensure you constantly say "I did" as opposed to "we did" and read up on the Code of Conduct, with some relevant examples of where you've called on or used it.

Regarding the mock interview on the 17th - that's perfect timing for me, mine interview is on the 22nd, East Midlands is my branch too! I'll be there.

I had my PRI this Tuesday, and I have to say that the panel were genuinely really nice people. They ask you realistic questions that you will already know the answers to as you are doing the job daily.
It is true that they genuinely want you to pass, they are very helpful in the way that they word the questions and if you do get a little stuck, they ask you supplementary questions to draw the answer out of you.
Be careful with your presentation though, as that ten minutes does fly by. 6 to 8 slides really is enough, keep it to no more than six slides if you can, mine was eight slides and I only just managed to squeeze them in.
It is not nerve wracking at all, I was dreading doing mine but quite enjoyed it when I was in there.
It is important to remember that the panel treat you with respect as an equal and not as some kind of junior because you are already good enough because you have made it to the interview stage. The Staffordshire branch mock PRI video is spot on, that's exactly what my interview was like. Good luck

I have my PRI booked in for the end of the month and would be grateful if you could forward the response already made to Darren and Ems. I have never used My Profile or the My Inbox before but a quick checks appears to confirm that they are up and running.
Any general advice you can give on the Q&A section will be really appreciated.
Many thanks.
