Hi,
Is there a way to register for the Nebosh International Diploma exams as an independent?
I was registered with a course provider but the course access has now expired and they want to charge me an extension fee of approx. £500 on top of the examination fees. Therefore Im looking at approx. £900 on top of what I’ve already paid. I don’t require the course content anymore as I have completed it and have my notes. However they won’t register me for the January 2017 exams unless I pay for the course extension. I approached another big name provider but they too wanted to sell me a course. I don’t mind paying an admin fee but why should I pay for course content I already have. I feel Im being held to ransom by the course providers as I can’t find any other way to register for the exam. My course access only expired in August 2016 and I’ve been studying my materials since . I don’t feel I should pay for an extension for course content I don’t need and have already paid for. Im aware I can’t register through NEBOSH but Im hoping someone on here can point me in the right direction.
Regards Butros

You ought to talk to (a real live person at) NEBOSH for advice

You just have to find an examination centre that will accept you as an external candidate.
Get the course provider list from Nebosh and make the contacts to suit .
I have done this acouple of times in the past for Nebosh Certificates myself.
I tutored myself and then sat the exams - why pay someone else when you are capable of doing it yourself.
Cheers
Andy

You can't go independant for diplomas you have to have a training company validate that you have completed the course or at least the sections. But I would contact them direct.

To substantiate the above, when returning your Unit D practical assessment your tutor is required to sign a tutor log to confirm that you have been in touch on a regular i.e. requesting guidance, thus proving that you Unit D Practical assessment is your own work and nobody elses.
Hope this helps!
