Hi. Can anyone point me to where I can read more about the "red and yellow card system" you use in the UK? We don't have it in Sweden, and we are supposed to be exposed to this system while working in the UK for a while.

Assuming you are referencing the construction industry then think football rules i.e Yellow, booking/ warning, and Red, sending off/ removing from site. This is an example (page 14):

Not all businesses or sectors use such card schemes - where they do there can be vast differences in their approach e.g. one may apply an immediate Red for flagrant disregard for site rules whilst others accumulate Yellow warnings before issuing a site ban.
The client / customer is obviously operating a form of scheme as they have made you aware of it - you really need the answer from them as to how their particualr scheme works.

The use of the red/ellow card system is not common place in the UK. There are a few mainly construction companies who choose to use this system to manage contractors. As a h&s practitioner I am not in favour of this method of maintaining discipline on site for various reasons.

I am all in favout of this system - for Managers. At the end of the day, the safety behaviour of workers is controlled by Managers, who should be held accountable. Period.

Indeed, but they are normally immune from the system because they implement and manage it.
