Dear all
a broad question on noise, in order to satisfy the below what measures do you put into place in order to satisfy
Regulation 10: Information, Instruction and Training
Where employees are likely to be exposed to noise at or above the lower exposure action value employers
must provide those employees and their representatives with suitable and sufficient information, instruction and training about the risks of exposure to noise, the control measures in place, the limit and action values, the findings of the risk assessment, the availability and use of hearing protections, health surveillance,
do you cover the above in a tool box talk format if so are there any good examples out there?
many thanks

What the regulation expects you to do is to explain to
employees why they are being told to wear ear protection. So describe work
related hearing damage and how it is permanent. Tell them how you select the
right sort of hearing protection. Explain that it should only recue the noise level
to a safe level not completely and why they should wear it and what happens to
them if they don’t (they are shown to door). Create a resource with all of this
stuff written down which anybody can access and you can wave in front of
assorted regulators who might come to ask questions.
