I saw Mark Gallagher (former Jordan/Red Bull F1) speak at the SHE show North East a couple of years ago. He talked about the changes in safety culture in Formula 1 over the previous 20 years (since the Ayrton Senna crash). It was really interesting and I also noted a number of parallels with my industry (Chemical R&D)
