Hi All I'm new to this site so go easy on me ! We are a small building company, we have recently won a contract from a national facility maintainance/management company who look after the building we will be working on for a large healthcare provider. I am assuming that the management/maintainance company is Principle Contractor. The project is F10 notifiable but we have not been given any Pre-construction Phase Plan or Construction Phase Plan information. can anybody help with the information as to who is the PC. It is due to start next week and we have all our RaMs in place but nothing else and have been asked for nothing else. I am begining to think that the FM/M people are not aware of their duties under CDM 2015.
We carried out a similar project for another arm of the FM/M company last year and all of their documentation was in place and spot on . Any opinions on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Thank You in advance.

Hello, Welcome to the forum. It is the client who is responsible for nominating (in writing) the Pricipal Designer and Principal Contractor. So they should have this information.
The client again is responsible for supplying the pre construction information and the PC has the duty of producing and maintaining the Construction Phase Plan. Really useful info availble on the CITB website re cdm and duties. Regards, John http://www.citb.co.uk/health-safety-and-other-topics/health-safety/construction-design-and-management-regulations/cdm-guidance-documents/

They could be the principal contractor but not necessarily. They could be a sub-contractor with you as the sub-subcontractor.
It is generally the clients responsibility to raise the F10.
In my experience you are rarely offered the CPP, but have to request it. You should be in receipt of a contract, my advice is to read it thoroughly before you sign it.
If you have any doubts then ask the FM company you are working for.

It really depends. It could be either. Your only option would be to ask the FM company that you are working for.

I meant to add. What CDM does say (reg 15) : (1) A contractor must not carry out construction work in relation to a project unless satisfied that the client is aware of the duties owed by the client under these Regulations.

Cover yourself and don't start until you have this info.
