Can anyone recommend US-based safety courses that are a reasonable proxy for the NEBOSH General Certificate? I have been unable to find a training provider that will deliver the NEBOSH International certificate anywhere near their working location (South Carolina) that they can attend.

I found a couple of providers who listed the course that, when contacted, said they weren't offering it anymore due to low demand.

One option that I have looked at for them is the "OSHA 30" course, which seems reasonably comparably in terms of its intent but  I'd appreciate any recommendations or validation of that course from anyone with experience in training or being trained in the US.

Thanks

Perhaps a suitable training provider such as the Rapid Result College Wimbledon UK can offer a distance learning package (on line tutoring) for the NEBOSH International Certificate.   For the final examination there may be a cross border arrangment made to sit the examination in the USA.  Only a thought my friend, worth a phone call to see what the score is eh.

Assuming the folks you wish to train will remain resident in N.C., I dont think the NEBOSH International will be much use. USA H&S tends to be prescriptive.

When in rome.........

Forget NEBOSH went looking at the USA, I work here and across Mexico and NEBOSH is not recognized. the OSHA 30 is equivalent to a CSCS card. OSHA 500 and 510 are the main courses for safety professionals in the USA.

the OSHA regulations are not risk-based either, it's a prescriptive form of teaching. If you have studied in the UK then you won't find the transition difficult, American standards are lower than the UK.
