Hi, Does anybody have any experience of servicing and maintaining toilet service units?. I'm aware of the obvious hazards etc and am preparing our SSOW but wondered if there may be things i need to consider that only experience in doing the job may give?

Hi, initial hazards that pop up in my head are

  • illnesses/disease including cross contamination of bio hazardous waste
  • bacteria
  • potential parasites
  • dermatitus
  • respiritory conditions
  • manual handling
  • poor lighting

Im sure that there are many more but these my instant thoughts.

This may be a stupid question but do you not have any expereinced staff in your workplace you can consult with?

It seems a bit too much for you to produce a SSOW work if you don't have any knowledge of this.
