Hello, I have got NVQ lvl 4, Civil Engineering - Construction from Polish University. I have already worked in Poland as a Site Enigneer and I am looking for similar work in UK.

My experience: Sworn translator translated my apprenticeship as a "work placement" - 4 years of such a work during studies. Additionally, I have 2 years of experience after graduating, worked as a Site Engineer.

The main question is about my professional experience. Is it properly to apply for supervisory card? If so, what type of card should I apply for to work as a Site Engineer (worked on residential and factory construction) ?

Hello

You would really need to call the CSCS people and see if your Polish NVQ level 4 is valid to add to a supervisory card

Call them on  0344 994 4777. The helpdesk is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank holidays.

They would be best advised to let you know

I already asked them and they said it is ok. (It's wroten that it is equal to UK NVQ lvl 5 with a minimum of NVQ lvl 4) But I have also asked if professional experience is needed and they couldn't answer me.

I heard that some guy with equal qualification but with no proffesional experience got AQP card. That's why I'm asking about that. How can I approve that I have worked in Poland. Is CV ok?

But surely to do the NVQ you need to be working in that enviroment in the first place ?? Perhaps your asking them a question which don't matter.

Just send in your copies of your Qualifications. if you've done your CITB Test in the last few years that should be all they need, Pay your £30 and get your new card. No need to worry about CV

Have you had experiance as a supervisor then ??

Yes I have had.

Site Engineer work in Poland is equal to work as a supervisor so 2 years of proffesional experience. Same goes for work placement - it was supervisory job.

You should be ok Then, Just scan and email  your Certificates and associated paperwork that does with them, and call them up and pay for your new Gold Card.

As long as you've got your CITB Health and Safety Test in the last 5 years you should be OK

As you said, I have asked them a question. I am moving in 3 days to UK, then I will find some more answers.

Is NARIC a official organisation which is capable to transform my qualification and proffesional experience into NVQ? Or I need Statement of comparbility from NARIC about my studies, and with that and certificates of employment come to another organisation which will transform it into NVQ?

Ok, I knew this was going to be a long one....

If you have a construction related qualification that was awarded outside the UK and is not currently recognised by CSCS you should contact UK NARIC so that they can review your qualification and determine whether it is comparable to an NVQ, SVQ or other qualification appropriate to your occupation and the CSCS card you wish to apply for.

If UK NARIC confirms that your qualification is an acceptable alternative to a UK awarded qualification you should email the following to customerservice@cscs.gb.com

  1. UK NARIC certificate and letter
  2. Copy of your original qualification (preferably translated)
  3. Fully completed CSCS application form, including which occupation you wish to apply for (full list found here).

Once this information is received CSCS will review your application and if all the documents are correct will send your CSCS card to the address you have provided.

Hope that Helps and

Welcome to the UK !!
