Hi, just wanted to check about legislation/guidance on transport of clinical waste from the lab down to the collection point. Do we require yellow bins for this or is that just for storage in the collection area? Thanks

You can transport it in what you like and any colour you
like. Yellow is the traditional colour for this but it is not legal requirement. There is a duty to manage the risks under COSHH and that is why you have to look at things like ensuring that the waste is transported in spill
proof containers that are clearly labelled.
