Christopher and Robert Brown, who admitted trying to cover up what had happened, were jailed for 20 months. Mark Aspin was sentenced to a year.

SR and RJ Brown Limited, of which brothers Christopher and Robert Brown are directors, was fined £300,000 at Manchester Crown Court after admitting corporate manslaughter.

Reading the article it seems they brought harnesses to site straight after the incident, seemingly with the intention of framing the deceased with working wrongly of his own accord. Stand up employers.

Another case of a micro company being prosecuted for Corporate Manslaughter when it was very easy to identify the controlling minds. Fine won't get paid and two Directors have been allowed to get away with their individual manslaughter charges, which if these had been taken through to a guilty verdict would probably have resulted in much more severe sentences.

When, when, when are we going to see a Corporate Manslaughter or Culpable Homicide case taken against the type of organisation that the legislation was targeted at where it is difficult to pinpoint the controlling mind, e.g. a multinational?
