I have MS. I am a health & safety professional. I was diagnosed 10 years ago. I can work full time. I am managing it. I have coping strategies. Will my condition get any worse? Maybe. Will I need to adjust things? Very probably. I've done all of my managing and coping myself with a very supportive previous employer. But i've just changed jobs and know not what is ahead in terms of my new employer. It's like a fingerprint, no two people with the condition are alike ( the people i've encountered over the years anyway). The magazine article is good and gives a basic insight to someone with limited experience or knowledge of the condition. I do hope that it helps to spread the word as it were. If any of you have MS or know someone who does (in or out of work), it would great to know your thoughts.

It can only be helpful to raise awareness of this subject. There are many misconceptions about MS, and as the poster says, no two people's MS is the same. There are challenges. Many people with MS will tell you that the most troublesome and debilitating symptom is extreme fatigue; most other symptoms can be worked around. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone with MS is confined to a wheelchair, and most can make a contribution to the workplace, if given the chance.
