Hello How to interpret this regulation, please? SECTION 4.7 Manufacturing activities involving carbon disulphide or ammonia Part A(1) (a) Any activity for the manufacture of a chemical which may result in the release of ammonia into the air, other than an activity in which ammonia is only used as a refrigerant. They refer to ammonia use. We use 20% ammonia solution (ammonia already dissolved in water). Can you help, please?

And will your process possibly release ammonia into the air ? If not, I suggest it does not apply to you. If it may, then it does. Chris

Hi Chris We don't manufacture ammonia solution, we buy it. We use ammonia solution for production of resin. Thanks

All well and good, but that is not the question I asked. The question is - due to your process will the ammonia get into the atmosphere ? This is Environmental legislation, so worried about pollution. If your process is such that Ammonia gets into the air then you are likely going to need a permit for your process. If there is no chance ammonia will be given off by whatever you do and end up in the atmosphere then you probably don't. Only you know the answer to that. Chris
