Old HSG 48 Revision - Looking for an outdated publication

Good morning all,

In his book, 'Improving safety culture' Dr D. Cooper references HSG 48 'Human factors in industrial safety' with particular reference to its bank of audit questions. I've developed a few audit bank of questions over the last few years but am interested to see what early information the HSE were putting out there.

HSG 48 has had 2 or more content and title changes since his book was published, but wondered if anyone had an old pdf copy they would mind sharing?

I have a pdf of HSG 48, but its called "Reducing Error and Influencing Behaviour" apparently I downloaded it onto my HD in 2009 so it may not be the one you are looking for.

Pm if it is.

Hi Walker,

Thanks for the offer. I've got that one and it is useful, but the first edition must have different content. I've got the last 2 for anyone who's interested, but the first edition has a different title which doesn't appear to focus as much on human error - I'm just intrigued as to what's actually in it

I have a hard copy of Human factors in industrial safety HSG48 1989 which I can lend you so that you can copy it or whatever.

The questions you refer to are are listed as being useful in the development of control stategies.

If you pm me with your address I'll post it to you .

There is no urgency in returning it.
