Hi,
I’ve been asked a question I can’t answer so would appreciate some help from a catering type please? Due to a change in how we do things on my site I now need to understand what food hygiene and other bits and pieces I need to see to bring a caterer in. The site is a large industrial site and as we gear up for a lot of contractors doing their thing we have historically allow a caterer to set up in a contractors canteen. Up to now this has been done through one of the main contractors on site who dealt with that but now, with a new contract in place, they have rightly told us it’s not their business to oversee a caterer as they’re an engineering co.
So, like I say, what do I / my site need to see to allow the caterer to open up in our contractors compound - specifically in terms of the catering / food hygiene aspects.
Many Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim
If - as it appears - you're looking to take on the responsibility of on-site catering for the first time, I would suggest that you obtain a copy of "Safer Food, Better Business" from the Food Standards Agency website (link below), and hopefully, this will provide all the information you need to know.
