After a sense check from fellow peers.

Is a fire door with a standard lever/latch handle and snib lock acceptable?

Article 14 states - Fire doors should not be locked or fastened so they cannot be easily and immidately opened

ADB states - should be readily apparent without the need to manipulate more than one mechanism

It could be argued that the handle itself is a form of mechanism and counter argued that these are common place which a lay person would know how to operate quickly and easily. Of course signage would complement the snib lock.

Thanks inadvance.

I have them fitted in two small training class rooms at one of the premises i manage, like you have already said common sense needs to be applied here, you will be fine so long as they can be opened easy and not locked by a key.
