Good morning,

I am seeking some advice and guidance on handling and storage of Biomass (wood pellets).

Having read some literature I have looked into DSEAR and ATEX.

Is there a 'go to' site that will give me all the info needed for this industry?

All help greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

I'm not sure that there is such a thing as a dedicated website, although there are numerous documents available that provide guidance on the subject. Our site has a single biomass boiler with two feed hoppers for woodchip fuel and I am in the process of instructing a DSEAR Assessment prior to commissioning due to the potential dust and combustion hazards associated with the handling and storage of this type of product.

You may find the following of some use: http://www.cea.org.uk/files/4313/7502/0795/Biomass_HS_final_071211.pdf

Some useful info on the RISCAuthority site. Aimed at property and business protection but the guidance is sound.
