Hi,
We have some areas where bump caps are required. We have previously supplied these, although the cheapest ones available were supplied. The staff often complain about them sweating their heads, does anyone have any recomendations on a particular make or type that you have found to be satisfactory. I am sure they must all sweat the head to some extent, so recomendations would be good.

And the problem cannot be engineered out eliminating the need for bump caps altogether? e.g. remove/re-position the offending item(s) or applying foam protectors

I suspect that any headwear will cause some sweating particularly in hot weather. They are better than say hard hats which can be very uncomfortable in hot weather. Not sure if they make bump caps which allow more heat to escape and yet remain sturdy enough for protection. Mr Google is your best bet.

I agree with Ray there are lots of different types of bump cap and the materials they are made from make a big difference with regard to how sweaty they are - to be honest you do get what you pay for so if you buy cheap expect people to complain.

ok thanks for the replies, I had hoped that another forum member may have had a particular type they use and had found to be good. We cannot engineer out the hazards and have reduced the accidents involving head knocks from 10 per year to none.
I have requested some samples and will evaluate them.
