Hi, vehicle in use has not got an integral ladder (to access the trailer - flat back), any suggestions? - should we be fitting and integral (fold-away) ladder, with a hand-hold, fixed to the chassis? - any sugestions? Presume steps arnt the best option?

As with everything else, it depends ...

I take it that you are talking about 40ft artic trailers or similar? Is it an open area ? partial dock?

In a previous employment we used roller steps but they only give access, not fall prevention. Unfortunately we had a faller from a trailer who slipped when climbing up the side bars - the steps had been 'borrowed' for another use at the time ...

Google helps out with a few links on a search of 'trailers working at height'

Hi SNS, yes it is a 40ft trailer, open area. Been advised there should be an integral ladder fitted to the vehicle - this would make sense, hope it (the ladder) hasnt been removed! - still open to suggestions.
