Hi Folks

Can anyone give me advice on cofferdams.  We have a job that requires them and I have never had to advise on them until now.  Appreciate any help.  Could find much on HSE site.  Eddy

Hi Eddy,

I have never had to advise on these before either so hopefully we have some Cofferdam experts on here. I did however find the below for you:

https://www.aisolutions.co.uk/Community/Knowledge/Topic/250/1004/Cofferdams-and-Caissons

http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/cis47.pdf

and of course Regulation 23 and 24 of the CDM Regulations 2015.

Hopefully it is of some use.

Cofferdams are temporary works and I would follow BS 5975 – CoP for temporary works procedures. In essence the more complex (category 0-3) the more controls that are put in place.
