My brief summary would be:
It brings it into line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 having the same structure and basic concepts. If you already know 9001:2015 then you know a lot of 45001. This makes it much easier to integrate these systems and have common elements between them.
There is a requirement to set out what the context of the organisation is (eg what it is trying to do and who its stakeholders are), there is more emphasis on leadership, worker participation and positive culture, and some of the annoying bits of 18001 have been got rid of.

Essentially the story is as follows: Once upon a time the British Standards Institute decided that Health and Safety was a good thing and they created BS 8800 and it was good. So good that they suggested that it should be an international standard ie ISO type standard. Unfortunately some people said no and blocked the development of a recognised international standard. So the BSI and it mates go together and created OHSAS 18001 which was in essence BS 8800 modified so that it could be adopted in any country in the world. Eventually ISO (the International Standards Organisation) agreed that a global standard supported by them might be a good idea so they agreed to back their own standard which is ISO 45001 and BSI agreed to drop OHSAS 18001. There was a lot of arguing about what to include and to exclude in the new standard mainly what responsibility should management hold ie is a company truly responsible for all Health and Safety within its organisation and what sort of cooperation and partnership do you expect from/with employees ( ie it became very political).
The basic set up is the same and as has been said it has the same format as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Most of it is very similar and if you switch from 18001 to 45001 the changes are mainly cosmetic rather than any fundamentally different principles.
