Hi Everyone
I want to create a Health and Safety Alert in word 2016. I thought it would be visually good if i could add a black and yellow ( hazard warning tape) border to the page. However i cannot figure out how to achieve this.
Could anyone help, or even supply me with a templete they already have?
Thank you

Hi There are a few ways to do this, how thick did you want the border to be?

The easiest way is to click on the "Insert" tab then go to SHAPEs - one of the shapes in the BASIC SHAPES section is a rectangle box which you can then drag to size for your page and you can still type in the open middle of the box. I'll pm an example if it will allow me to attach it.

I think the fact they want chevrons makes it a little more difficult. Word has a boarder feature but limited on what boarders you can have and you can’t add more (design tab RH side- ok if you want pictures of cake) The above will work with a few tweaks. Go to internet and copy black / yellow chevron picture (obviously taking care with copywrite material). Copy the picture and past it onto the page and expand to fit the page (may also want to reduce the normal page boarders a bit). Then from shapes pick the one that shows a rectangle with a little “A” inside it and past this in the middle, then expand it to leave just a little chevron boarder. Ta da Chris NB in a previous place we used to put the title in a coloured block, then when the next one came out a different colour that way the people could see from a distance it had changed. Just a thought

Hi Chris - I didn't interpret what he said as chevrons but as you point out if that is what he wants there is still a way to do it using the shapes but it will be harder to do to get a consistent result and take longer to set up. It should still be doable though. I like your idea of changing the design / colour so that people can tell you have posted up a new document. I'm trying to refresh our notice boards at the moment and that is an idea I may very well nick.
