Good Afternoon,

On the 31st July the goverment issued a statement (https://www.gov.uk/government/news/action-to-address-recent-fire-door-issues ) regarding the failure of fire doors from certain suppliers. Since then certain suppliers are now refusing to issue / supply fire doors and I cannot get a straight answer as to when this situation will end. I have contacted 3 suppliers and all have said that they are not releasing doors yet. Can anyone shed some light into this. I have also posed the same question to the FPA

All the accredited laboratories for undertaking fire resistance testing in Construction Products have been very busy over the last 12 months - most are advising 3 - 6 months for a slot in the facility dependent upon the test required.

Because of the investigative work (some doors found to have 15 minutes actual resistance versus 30 minutes stated) and suppliers having a legal duty to ensure their product are fit for purpose it is probable they will be awaiting the outcome of repeat testing of their existing product range, so... until they hold a report.
