Hi, has anyone got an accident book that meets the requirements of HSE guidance? The guidance says that information to be recorded should include along with address details etc; What first aid was given what happened to the person afterwards i.e. went back to work, to doctor, hospital, home etc. Most of the accident books I have come accross don't have space for this information. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Although there are no specified sub-headings in the "Accident Books" , there is nothing that prevents you as the employer/person in control of the premises from entering those details as a part of your input/investigation if you do not have your compant reporting systems that have the details highlighted. This problem has arisen because government, through the HSE in the called "deregulation" decided do away with the over 3 day rpoerting to HSE, but have in reality have created confusion to some, by requiring organisations to keep the records of over 3 days as it is a requirement of the EU Framework Health & Safety Directive!

Hi,

Please can you help me out?

Do you require the HSE accident books if you have introduced an electronic accident and incidnet reporting system into the workplace?

Thanks

Hi J_Wood,  We have stopped using the accident books because we have gone down the lines of an electonic form which records nearly everything except their inside leg measurement.....

Thanks Bob

Sounds like your system is very similar to ours.

I am trying to get away from duplication by encouraging users to use just the elctronic system, as long as we are compliant which I am sure we are.

Compliance again. You'd be surprised how many do not comply with the General Data Protection Regulations. And since the fines can now be unlimited..... https://app.croneri.co.u...s-why-how-and-how-long-0

EU 2016/679 "GDPR" is not a true direct acting regulation instead its introduction within the UK is by the Data Protection Act 2018 - UK S.I. 2018 No 12

Effectively the act contains most of the GDPR....with variations which the UK govt wanted for itself so it could continue to splurge peoples data about between govt depts...etc.

So talking about one is almost the same as the other.

And the fines are very much large.

And small firms pay little attention to protection of personal data....still. But then British management is usually only concerned about a new company car anyway...
