Hello Please could I ask if a fire alarm panel fails within a business premises (no overnight sleeping arrangements and not connected to emergency call centre) should the local fire officer be contacted and made aware? At the moment our fire alarm panel has failed and a replacement is currently on order but is taking longer then normal for delivery, this is a wireless system which while the main controller / panel has failed the localised smoke heads with internal sounder are still operational but on a standalone bases.

The only people with interest given it is "not connected" to the local station or subject to a monitoring service will be your insurer - typically anything up to 12 hours outage would be considered a repair anything longer and they may have conditions for your cover to be effective.
